Originally making waves as a founding member and lead guitarist for longtime Midwest music scene staple, Smokin’ Bandits, Pat Ferguson (Madison, WI) has emerged as a nationally renowned solo performer, songwriter, and vocalist.
Ferguson has just finished recording his sophomore solo LP, recorded at Mix-o-Lydian Studios in Delaware Water Gap, PA and produced by Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth, The High Hawks). Set to be released on LoHi Records in 2021, the record features Carbone, Carey Harmon (Railroad Earth), Jacob Jolliff, Kenny Leiser (Joseph Huber), Elliott Peck (Midnight North, Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Family Band), Mike Robinson (Railroad Earth), Kevin Rowe (Buffalo Gospel), and Tony Trischka.
His finger and flat-picking style channels Americana, bluegrass, and folk; a signature sound deeply influenced by his Upper Mississippi River musical roots. Light of Day / Dark of Night, Pat’s first solo record, was produced by Adam Greuel (Horseshoes & Hand Grenades) and released in 2018 on LoHi Records to widespread critical acclaim.
